Communications & Marketing Specialist

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist for a remote role to support the promotion and public awareness of scheduled hearings and meetings. The right candidate must reside in NYC and be familiar with surrounding neighborhoods/communities for effective marketing and outreach. Candidates with an active LinkedIn profile preferred.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coordinating events or legal proceedings

  • Familiarity with NYC neighborhoods/communities for marketing and promotion of public hearings.

  • General ability to communicate with project team via email and, on occasion, via WebEx videoconference.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat for PDFs.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently and independently.

  • Proficiency with social media and marketing/communication channels (preferred credential).

SCOPE OF SERVICES

  • Prepare and distribute timely announcements regarding scheduled hearings and meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable public notice requirements and accessibility standards.

  • Draft, edit, and disseminate press releases, advertisements, and social media content related to hearings.

  • Coordinate with local media outlets to secure coverage and placement of announcements.

  • Develop content strategies that increase community awareness and engagement.

  • Manage and update social media channels with relevant announcements, reminders, and recaps.

  • Monitor community response and engagement.

  • Design and oversee the design of print, digital, and social media advertisements for hearings.

  • Ensure advertisements are clear, accurate, and consistent with organizational branding.

  • Maintain a record of all communications and notices distributed.
